The creative process of Spiraculum Aeternitas mirrors that of alchemy. It is in essence an alchemical process in that an external event effects and has a symbiotic relationship with internal transformation. An artefact is drawn out of the unconscious and is given life through the creative process, after which it takes on its own life and undergoes change under the gentle control of the artist-alchemist.

The prima materia is the artist who invokes a force not from without into themselves, but from themselves into an external aural object, after which a hieros gamos, a holy marriage can take place between the creator and that created. We invoke and evoke ourselves in order to come to an Understanding of ourselves.

This special release was created for the Opus Alchymicum exhibition held at the Queen Street Gallery in Sydney, launched on the 7th of October 2014 (Anno Vo - Sun in Scorpio - Moon in Taurus).
